It all started with an encounter between Mr. Goto, the representative of KYOCERA and Nobuaki Tomita, the president of Kyocera (China) Commercial Trade Co. We were told that KYOCERA’s original ceramic kitchen knives are very popular in Asia (China). We received a request to “give the kitchen knives a Japanese image! We produced an item using silk fabric of Nishijin-ori, a traditional technique of Kyoto. The result is a new beautiful item that gives a different form to the craftsman’s skills.
